Coming Home with Story Sharing

  • Asian Pacific Community Fund of Southern California 1145 Wilshire Boulevard Los Angeles, CA, 90017 United States (map)

API Rainbow Parents’ mission is to support, educate, and advocate. Though we can’t be with each other in person during this pandemic, we continue to create a safe and supportive space for our community. To celebrate AAPI Heritage Month, we want to bring everyone together to this big family by hosting a virtual story-sharing event, featuring API LGBTQ folks and parents sharing stories about their journey through love and acceptance. We hope this event will unite us with love and support amidst the rise of anti-Asian violence throughout the states and hard times from pandemic.

Our guest speakers:

  • Clara Lee (she/her/hers) - Founder of API Rainbow Parents of PFLAG NYC, Co-founder of Korean American Rainbow Parents

  • Aruna Rao (she/her/hers) - Executive Director, Desi Rainbow Parents & Allies

  • Aries Liao (she/her/hers) - Co-Founder and Co-Director at Asian Pride Project, Steering Committee Member of API Rainbow Parents

  • Rev. Daniel S. Cho (he/him/his) - Founding Pastor or HA:N UMC. HA:N UMC is a progressive Asian American-rooted church that is queer affirming and empowering. han-umc.org

Our aim is to create a safe space for meaningful intergenerational dialogue. We are excited to have you join us!
