In direct response to the increased violence and hateful rhetoric against Asian Americans, PBS, in partnership with the Center for Asian American Media (CAAM), is now streaming the new series A PEOPLE’S HISTORY OF ASIAN AMERICA.
In each episode, hosts Dolly Li and Professor Adrian De Leon provide audiences with informed and contextualized perspectives on Asian American stereotypes, racism and xenophobia. Episodes examine the rise in anti-Asian sentiment amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the “model minority” myth and the hyper-sexualization of Asian women, among other topics.
The four-part miniseries is available for free on PBS Voices, a documentary-focused YouTube channel by PBS Digital Studios. The series is also available on PBS.org and the PBS Video app.
