Thai CDC is proud to announce that we have been selected as the 2021 California Nonprofit of the Year by Assemblymember Laura Friedman of the State of California. To celebrate this important recognition, you are invited to the award ceremony at our Center on Friday, August 27th at 11am. Light Thai refreshments will be served, and masks will be required for this event.
Jan Masaoka, CEO of the California Association of Nonprofits (CalNonprofits) states that “California Nonprofit of the Year is an opportunity for our elected officials to celebrate the good work they see nonprofits doing in their districts, and for everyone to appreciate the collective impact of nonprofits in our communities.”
We want to celebrate this important honor with all of you as your support over the years has made it possible for us to fulfill our mission to "advance the social and economic well-being of low- and moderate-income individuals in the greater Los Angeles area through a broad and comprehensive community development strategy including human rights advocacy, affordable housing, access to healthcare, promotion of small businesses, neighborhood empowerment, and social enterprises."
During the pandemic, we have been rendering aid, relief and critical services to the community with COVID-19 testing and vaccination clinics, cash assistance, food vouchers, and PPEs while continuing to provide legal and social services, healthcare access, managing our affordable housing projects, operating our farmers' market, and building our Thai Town Marketplace.
