How do color-blind policies hurt us? How are trauma and pain associated with discrimination? How can city officials create hope for young Black people and marginalized communities?
Dr. Dexter R. Voisin will unpack what “structural violence” means, the trauma it causes, and how it affects the Black community. He will also offer policy recommendations for city officials and advice for individuals to help bring change.
Dr. Voisin has dedicated much of his career to examining how structural and neighborhood violence affects youth in urban American communities.
