Workshop #1 - Writing a Stand-Out College Essay
In this 45-minute workshop, students will learn how to craft a compelling and authentic college essay that captures their unique voice. We’ll explore effective storytelling techniques, strategies for structuring the essay, and tips on highlighting personal experiences that resonate with admissions officers. Students will leave with a clear understanding of how to brainstorm, organize, and refine their essays to reflect their individuality and aspirations, making their application stand out in a competitive landscape.
Workshop #2 - Planning Ahead and Staying Organized During the College Admissions Process
In this 45-minute workshop, students will learn practical strategies for managing the many moving parts of college applications with confidence and ease. We’ll cover how to create a personalized admissions timeline, stay on top of deadlines, and organize application materials efficiently. Students will leave with tools to prioritize tasks, break down the process into manageable steps, and reduce stress by planning ahead, helping them stay organized and focused from start to finish.
Workshop #3 - Mental Wellness for AAPI Community
Focuses on pressures and pain points for families preparing for college, led by Yellow Chair Collective's Phuong Tang, a licensed clinical social worker.
