Please join us for the second webinar in the Health Integration Webinar series brought to you by the Health Consortium of Greater San Gabriel Valley, which is made possible through the generous support of Health Net. Drs. Andy Wong and Paul Magtoto of Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park will be presenting.
This webinar will focus on the ethnic disparities in rates of diabetes and depression within the Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park patient population. The webinar will include information on the bi-directional relationship between depression and diabetes, including the psycho-social relationship and some of the physiological contributions. The presenters will also discuss best practices and recommendations for addressing these issues, including management in a tele-health environment.
Dr. Andy Wong practices Adult Psychiatry at Kaiser Permanente, Baldwin Park, and is currently piloting a program integrating psychiatry with family medicine. Additionally, he serves as the psychiatry champion for the Kaiser Permanente Depression Care Management team in the Baldwin Park location. He conducted his Psychiatry residency at the Los Angeles County University of Southern California Medical Center and previously practiced as a general practitioner in primary and urgent care.
Dr. Paul Magtoto practices family medicine at Kaiser Permanente in the Montebello location. He serves as the Complete Care Physician Lead for the San Gabriel Valley. He places a strong importance on integrating dignity and compassion in his medical care, and has served his Kaiser patients since 2000. He obtained his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine, and completed his internship and residency at Glendale Adventist Medical Center.
