Happy Lunar New Year!

I hope you are doing well in 2009. We had the opportunity to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year with the Edison Chinese Connection (Affinity Group at Southern California Edison) on Friday, January 30th at Ocean Star Restaurant in Monterey Park along with 500 Edison employees, friends, family, and community leaders.

Annually, the Edison Chinese Connection (ECC) hosts a celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year with a multi-course banquet meal, entertainment including a lion dance, an auction and much more. ECC also selects a charity to be the recipient of its fundraising efforts each year and for 2008 and 2009, the Asian Pacific Community Fund (APCF) has been given this honor.

APCF would like to thank ECC for their commitment and hard work in raising funds to support our ongoing operations during these tough economic times. Edison Chinese Connection

As government, foundation, and corporate funding is more and more difficult to secure and the needs of the community continue to grow, we appreciate the efforts of individuals who are coming together and making a lasting impact.

Thanks to the hard work and generosity of ECC members, volunteers and Edison employees, the event raised over $2,000 for APCF. This is a great way to start the New Year! I hope you all have the opportunity to make a lasting impact this year. I wish you all the best in 2009!
